Caesarea Philippi - Mount Hermon
The headwaters of the Jordan River spring out from the base of Mount Hermon and flow first into the Sea of Galilee, then via the Jordan River to the Dead Sea.
The water here provides all of Israel with a majority of its fresh water needs.
There are many spiritual applications that can be observed at Mount Hermon. In the same way the water flows out of the rock here, it is reminiscent of the water that flowed out of the rock in the desert when Moses struck the rock and water poured forth.
Another biblical scene also comes to mind when visiting Mount Hermon. In the Book of Revelation, a life-giving river flows out from the throne of God and the Lamb (Jesus Christ), and waters the tree of life planted along its shores. (See Revelation chapter 22.)
